Site effects how-to and when: An overview of retrospective techniques to accommodate site effects in multi-site neuroimaging analyses [PDF]
Site differences, or systematic differences in feature distributions across multiple data-acquisition sites, are a known source of heterogeneity that may adversely affect large-scale meta- and mega-analyses of independently collected neuroimaging data ...

Evaluation of seismic responses of an arch dam under non-uniform ground motion using random vibration [PDF]
To investigate the seismic responses of dams due to ground non uniform displacements, the records of earthquake displacements are required. Such data is seldom recorded during a specific earthquake and in the most cases the recorded data in not ...

Predicting Models for Local Sedimentary Basin Effect Using a Convolutional Neural Network
Although the numerical models can estimate the significant influence of local site conditions on the seismic propagation characteristics near the surface in many studies, they cannot feasibly predict the seismic ground motion amplification in regular ...

Machine learning based ground motion site amplification prediction
Site condition impact on seismic ground motion has been a complex but important subject in earthquake hazard analysis. Traditional studies on site amplification effect are either based on site response via wave propagation simulation or regression ...

Distant Site Effects of Ingested Prebiotics [PDF]
The gut microbiome is being more widely recognized for its association with positive health outcomes, including those distant to the gastrointestinal system. This has given the ability to maintain and restore microbial homeostasis a new significance.
