Seismic site response

open access: yesBulletin of the New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering, 1974
It has long been recognized that the intensity of shaking in the epicentral region in a large earthquake is far from uniform. The common engineering approach has been to regard local site conditions as having paramount influence in the total response prediction problem.

Deep Sequencing of FLT3‐ITD Enables Response Evaluation and Post‐Treatment Monitoring in Childhood AML: An Exploratory Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An internal tandem duplication in the gene encoding Fms‐like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3‐ITD) is associated with high relapse risk and poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and plays a crucial role in treatment decisions. Measurable residual disease (MRD) analysis of FLT3‐ITD during and after treatment has shown prognostic ...

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

Supporting Survivor‐Centered Care Through Digital Health Integration

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.

Advance in seismic site response: Usual practices and innovative methods

open access: yes, 2017
Amplitudes and frequency content of the seismic ground motion generated by an earthquake and recorded at a specific location depends on the characteristics of the source, the path from the source to the site and the local geologic conditions.

Site-Specific Response Spectra: Guidelines for Engineering Practice

open access: yesCivilEng, 2021
Code response spectrum models, which are used widely in the earthquake-resistant design of buildings, are simple to apply but they do not necessarily represent the real behavior of an earthquake.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

High-resolution kinetic characterization of the RIG-I-signaling pathway and the antiviral response

open access: yesLife Science Alliance, 2023
This study takes a comprehensive approach to understand the dynamics of the cell-intrinsic response towards virus infection and how viruses actively modulate this. RIG-I recognizes viral dsRNA and activates a cell-autonomous antiviral response.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Seismic Performance Assessment of an RC Building Due to 2023 Türkiye Earthquakes: A Case Study in Adıyaman, Türkiye

open access: yesBuildings
The 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude Pazarcık and Elbistan earthquakes that struck Kahramanmaraş on 6 February 2023 caused widespread structural damage across many provinces and are considered rare in seismological terms.
