(Skew) Filters in Residuated Skew Lattic [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Annals of Computer Science, 2018
In this paper, we show the relationship between (skew) deductive system and (skew) filter in residuated skew lattices. It is shown that if a residuated skew lattice is conormal, then any skew deductive system is a skew filter under a condition and deductive system and skew deductive system are equivalent under some conditions too.

On mixtures of skew normal and skew $$t$$ -distributions [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Data Analysis and Classification, 2013
Finite mixture of skew distributions have emerged as an effective tool in modelling heterogeneous data with asymmetric features. With various proposals appearing rapidly in the recent years, which are similar but not identical, the connections between them and their relative performance becomes rather unclear.

Skew throttling [PDF]

open access: yesAustralas. J Comb., 2019
Zero forcing is a process that colors the vertices of a graph blue by starting with some vertices blue and applying a color change rule. Throttling minimizes the sum of the number of initial blue vertices and the time to color the graph. In this paper, we study throttling for skew zero forcing.

Contact Analysis and Friction Prediction of Non-Gaussian Random Surfaces

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Engineering surfaces exhibit asymmetrical height distributions due to certain types of surface finishing and running-in process. This non-Gaussian surface reflects different contact performances and tribological properties.

Effect of Process Parameters on the Surface Microgeometry of a Ti6Al4V Alloy Manufactured by Laser Powder Bed Fusion: 3D vs. 2D Characterization

open access: yesMetals, 2022
The influence of the main process parameters, laser power, point distance and time exposure, on the surface microgeometry of Ti6Al4V specimens produced by a pulsed powder bed fusion process was investigated.

Analytical Derivations of New Specifications for Stochastic Frontiers with Applications

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
In this paper, we propose the analytical derivations of new specifications for the stochastic frontier (SF) approach. In order to avoid some limitations of the traditional SF method, we introduce dependence between the two error components through copula

SKEWNESS AND PERMUTATION [PDF]

open access: yesCladistics, 1992
Abstract— The skewness criterion of phylogenetic structure in data is too sensitive to character state frequencies, is not sensitive enough to number of characters (degree of corroboration) and relies on counts of arbitrarily‐resolved bifurcating trees. For these reasons it can give misleading results.

A Viable Approach to Mitigating Irreproducibility

open access: yesStats, 2021
In a recent article, Trafimow suggested the usefulness of imagining an ideal universe where the only difference between original and replication experiments is the operation of randomness.
