The electrophoretic patterns of skipjack tuna tissue esterases [PDF]

open access: yesHereditas, 2009
As many as twelve bands of esterase activity were observed in the zymograms of homogenized skipjack tissue. With rare exception, the tissues of a single individual show a pattern of related similarity which is clearly evident in the more prominent bands.

Region Proposal and Regression Network for Fishing Spots Detection From Sea Environment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this paper, a two-stage method is proposed for predicting the catch of skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) from a 2D sea environmental pattern. Following the assumption that sea water temperature and sea surface height (SSH) which fishermen often use ...

Consequences of the historical demography on the global population structure of two highly migratory cosmopolitan marine fishes: the yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) and the skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis)

open access: yesBMC Evolutionary Biology, 2005
Background Yellowfin and skipjack tuna are globally distributed in the world's tropical and sub-tropical oceans. Since little, if any, migration of these fishes occurs between the Atlantic and Indo-Pacific Oceans, one might expect to see genetic ...

Terminal structures of tuna and skipjack myoglobins.

open access: yesNIPPON SUISAN GAKKAISHI, 1976
Myoglobins (Mb's) of the bluefin tuna and skipjack, the N-termini of which are acetylblocked as previously reported, were analyzed for N-terminal amino acid sequence and C-terminus. The purified Mb specimen of each species was digested with “Pronase P” and from the digest 3 acetylpeptides were separated by paper chromatography.
