Ultrasound‐Responsive Piezoelectric Fibrous Membrane Promotes Neurological Recovery After TBI by Modulating Microglial Polarization via Restoring Mitochondrial Dynamic Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a novel therapy for traumatic brain injury TBI using a LIPUS‐responsive Piezoelectric fibrous membrane. It targets microglial mitochondria via in situ electrical signals, restoring homeostasis and reducing oxidative stress to promote an anti‐inflammatory M2 phenotype.

A New Technique for the Endoscopic Reconstruction of Skull Base Defects Using Multiple-balloon Catheters

open access: yesNeurologia Medico-Chirurgica, 2022
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage is a major complication following endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery. Various skull base reconstruction methods are available, and the use of a vascularized nasoseptal flap (NSF) in skull base reconstruction has ...

Ultra‐Radiostable Covalent Conformationally Interlocked Networks Enabling a Universal Radiometal‐Labeling Platform for Cancer Radioembolization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conjugated poly(imide dioxime)‐based microspheres establish a radiometal coordination‐driven conformational interlocked network with ultra‐high radiostability. This platform enables low‐temperature, multi‐radionuclide labeling for SPECT/PET/MRI imaging and radionuclide therapy. Mechanistic insights from EXAFS and DFT reveal enhanced stability, while in

Reconstruction of Skull Base and Fronto-orbital Defects following Tumor Resection

open access: yes, 2007
Reconstruction of the anterior skull base and fronto-orbital framework following extensive tumor resection is both challenging and controversial. Dural defects are covered with multiple sheets of fascia lata that provide sufficient support and avoid ...

Assessing Strengths and Limitations of Magnetoencephalography Source Imaging With Intracerebral EEG

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Simultaneous MEG and stereotactic EEG (SEEG) recordings provide a direct validation framework for MEG source imaging in focal epilepsy. Virtual SEEG signals derived from MEG reconstructions reveal significant agreement with intracranial measures of spike localization, resting‐state oscillations, and functional connectivity, while also identifying ...

Methods of Skull Base Repair Following Endoscopic Endonasal Tumor Resection: A Review

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2020
Following the introduction of fully endoscopic techniques for the resection of pituitary tumors, there was a rapid expansion of the indications for endonasal endoscopic surgery to include extrasellar tumors of the skull base.

Evaluating Skull base Defect Reconstruction after Endoscopic Transsphenoidal Approach among Iraqi Patients

open access: yesمجلة الكوفة الطبية, 2022
Background: Endoscopic skull base surgery is a well-established technique for the treatment of skull base pathologies. Once the resection is complete, reconstruction of the sellar floor is performed.

Skull base plasmacytoma in a patient with light chain myeloma

open access: yes, 2003
Skull base involvement of plasmacytoma is reported in a patient with light chain myeloma. A 39-year-old man was admitted after experiencing paresthesia on the left side of the face and left arm, intermittent diplopia, and hoarseness for 2 years.

Gαi1/3 Are Essential for BMP2‐Induced Osteogenesis by Bridging BMP Receptors to the Gab1 Signaling Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Gαi1/3 protein is a crucial connecting protein closely related to the signal transduction process of bone formation‐related cytokines such as BMP2. Gαi1/3 mediates downstream signaling pathways such as Smads and MAPK by binding to adaptor proteins like Gab1, thereby promoting the osteogenic effect of BMSCs.
