Gouy Phase Induced Optical Skyrmion Transformation in Diffraction Limited Scale
The tight focusing of the incident skyrmionic beams will produce topology transformations between the incident and the corresponding focused beams. The Gouy phase plays a key role in such transformations, which is related to the orbital angular momentum carried by the high order Laguerre–Gaussian mode in the skyrmionic beam.

The proton microscopic optical potential based on Skyrme interaction
The proton microscopic optical potential (MOP) based on Skyrme interaction has been achieved by the Green function method in the nuclear matter, and given by the local density approximation (LDA) for finite nuclei.

Contextual Admissions: Normative Considerations
ABSTRACT Access to higher education is often competitive, and much attention has been placed on the question of admission decision‐making in such high stakes situations. We identify various approaches to distributive justice and consider these under the framework developed by Pike distinguishes between ‘egalitaria’ (everyone gets the same); ‘necessitia’

Learning from positive deviants in fisheries
Sustainable fishing is linked to ecological and human factors. We were curious to find out which factors are most important in predicting the health of fish stocks in Canada. We also investigated the outliers—stocks doing better or worse than expected—to see how to improve the management of underperforming fisheries.

Non-derivative axionic couplings to nucleons at large and small N
Among the possible CP-odd couplings of the axion to ordinary matter, the most relevant ones for phenomenology are the Yukawa couplings to nucleons. We analyze such non-derivative couplings within three different approaches: standard effective field ...

THE SKYRME MODEL AND STRONG-INTERACTIONS (TO THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SKYRME MODEL)
In the review article we sum up the results of development of Skyrme's solitonic approach in the baryon structure description. Contrary to the already existing literature in the field we pay a special tribute not to pragmatical aspects or the model, but rather to initial ideas, deep topological content and to such delicate problems as an existence or ...

Velocity dependence of the Skyrme interaction
Abstract The role of the velocity dependence in the Skyrme interaction is studied. A higher order term is introduced to improve the level density near the fermi level in 208 Pb and to yield the dipole state in 208 Pb closer to the experimental position. Landau parameters are reported.

Abstract Optical skyrmions, which are topological quasi‐particles with nontrivial electromagnetic textures, have garnered escalating research interest recently for their potential in diverse applications. In this paper, we present a method for generating tightly focused optical skyrmion and meron topologies formed by electric‐field vectors under 4π ...

Skyrme's interaction in the asymptotic basis
Matrix elements of the two-body, three-body and spin-orbit parts of Skyrme's interaction are calculated analytically in the asymptotic basis. These matrix elements only involve combinations of some simple functions which makes their numerical evaluation rather easy.
