ABSTRACT The physics of heavy‐ion collisions is one of the most exciting and challenging directions of science for the last four decades. On the theoretical side one deals with a non‐abelian field theory, while on the experimental side today's largest accelerators are needed to enable these studies.

The scattering of baby Skyrmions off potential obstructions, in a Landau-Lifshitz model [PDF]
The dynamics of baby skyrmions of the (2+1) new baby Skyrme model, in a Landau - Lifshitz model, was studied in the presence of various potential obstructions of varying geometries.

Effects of a Skyrme-type tensor force on the spin-isospin excitations
The effects of the tensor force on the charge-exchange Gamow-Teller (GT) and spin-dipole (SD) states are studied by using the self-consistent Hartree-Fock plus Random Phase Approximation (HF+RPA) approach based on Skyrme zero-range forces. We have found,

Spin saturation and the Skyrme interaction
Abstract Of existing variants of the Skyrme interaction, those with strong three-body terms - in particular the variant SIII that is in best accord with experiment - overbind odd-mass and odd-odd nuclei and produce unstable spin-saturated Hartree-Fock ground states in nuclear matter and in even-even light nuclei. This difficulty can be removed either

Singular Electromagnetics: From Phase Singularities to Optical Skyrmions and Beyond
Singular electromagnetics/optics studies multidimensional topological defects of electromagnetic fields (also known as optical singularities), including phase and polarization singularities, 3D singularities (e.g., optical skyrmions, merons, hopfions, knots, links, and Möbius strips), and even higher‐dimensional singularities.

Reactions of exotic nuclei with the quark-meson coupling model
The nucleon-nucleon interaction is an important requirement for investigations of nuclear structure and reactions, as well as for astrophysical models such as r-process nucleosynthesis and neutron stars.

Baryon octet interactions in the skyrme model
Abstract We calculate baryon-baryon interactions in the SU(3) octet using the Skyrme model. We employ an exact diagonalization procedure for the symmetry-breaking term in the solution of the single-baryon B =1 problem, and a product ansatz for the B =2 solutions.

The neutron emission of the β-decay of 74;76;78;80Ni are studied within the quasiparticle random phase approximation with the Skyrme interaction. The coupling between one- and two-phonon terms in the wave functions of the low-energy 1+ states of the ...

Elastic scattering cross-sections of 16,18O + 120Sn reactions based on the potential of the modified Thomas - Fermi method with consideration of the core [PDF]
Nucleon density distributions and nucleus-nucleus interaction potentials for the reactions 16,18O + 120Sn were obtained within the framework of the modified Thomas - Fermi method.
