K-type slant helices on spacelike and timelike surfaces

open access: yesActa et commentationes Universitatis Tartuensis de mathematica, 2021
We have derived a necessary and sufficient condition for a non-null normal spacelike curve lying in a spacelike or a timelike surface M ⊂ E13, so that the curve becomes a K-type spacelike slant helix with K ∈ {1,2,3}. We have used Darboux frame to define

Conjugate mates for non-null Frenet curves

open access: yesSakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi, 2019
For each non-null Frenet curve \gamma in Minkowski 3-space, there exists a unique unit speed non-null curve tangentto the principal binormal vector field of \gamma. We briefly call this curve the conjugate mate of\gamma . The aim of thispaper is to prove

A New Approach on Helices in Pseudo-Riemannian Manifolds

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
A proper curve α in the n-dimensional pseudo-Riemannian manifold (M,g) is called a Vn-slant helix if the function g(Vn,X) is a nonzero constant along α, where X is a  parallel vector field along α and Vn is nth Frenet frame.

New type surfaces in terms of B-Smarandache Curves in Sol3

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Technology, 2015
In this work, new type ruled surfaces in terms of B- Smarandache TM1 curves of biharmonic B- slant helices in the SOL3 are studied. We characterize the B- Smarandache TM1 curves in terms of their Bishop curvatures.

Curves According to the Successor Frame in Euclidean 3-Space

open access: yesSakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi, 2018
In thepresent study, the successor formulae of the successor curves defined byMenninger [1] are given. Then, by defining the successor planes, the geometricmeanings of the successor curvatures are investigated and the relations acrossthe components of ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

On characterizations of g n-helices with Euler angles

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
Curvature and torsion, in their most general forms, are defined in terms of Euler angle-based parametrization via the Cartan matrix, which leads to the Serret-Frenet equations.

Position Vectors of Curves Generalizing General Helices and Slant Helices in Euclidean 3-Space

open access: yes, 2021
In this paper, we give a new characterization of a k-slant helix which is a generalization of general helix and slant helix. Thereafter, we construct a vector differential equation of the third order to determine the parametric representation of a k ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
