A -SLIC: Acceleration of SLIC Superpixel Segmentation Algorithm in a Co-Design Framework
2020In this work, we present an optimized pipelined hardware implementation of the accelerated Simple Linear Iterative Clustering algorithm (A-SLIC) for superpixel segmentation. The algorithm is implemented on an FPGA using a hardware-software co-design framework wherein large memory requirements are drawn from off-chip memory.

2016 IEEE 11th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2016
Superpixel segmentation becomes more and more popular in the fields of computer vision and image processing. The simple linear iterative clustering (SLIC) is widely used due to its high segmentation accuracy and low computational complexity. In this paper, we propose a variance adaptive SLIC (VASLIC) algorithm.

SLIC - Symbolic Layout of Integrated Circuits
The proceedings of the thirteenth design automation conference on Design automation - DAC '76, NO. 13, 1976The purpose of this paper is to introduce a symbolic layout technique for MOS integrated circuits. We will give a description of symbolic layout, talk about its potential and briefly describe the symbolic layout system we have developed at AMI.

SLIC Superpixel Segmentation for Polarimetric SAR Images
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2022Superpixel segmentation approaches for polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images have only been studied in recent years. Simple linear iterative clustering (SLIC) is a simple and efficient superpixel segmentation method, first proposed for optical images.

This paper describes a low complexity equalizer for the ISI channel, which approximates a maximum likelihood sequence estimator (MLSE). Our equalizer is an extension of the SLIC demodulator for the MIMO channel, presented recently. SLIC stands for serial localization with indecision and color suppression. The main features of the SLIC equalizer are: 1)

Unmixing with SLIC superpixels for hyperspectral change detection
2016 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2016Change detection by unmixing has been shown to provide enhanced change detection performance for hyperspectral images with respect to more traditional approaches, especially when the temporal images contain sub-pixel level changes. In a recent paper, change detection by spectral unmixing was investigated in detail and the advantages that can be gained ...

SLIC: A Low Complexity Demodulator for MIMO
2011 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2011This paper describes a low complexity demodulator for MIMO, which approximates the optimal joint detector. Our demodulator is called SLIC, which stands for serial localization with indecision and color suppression. The main features of SLIC are: 1) a serial structure, where the search for the eventual solution is incrementally localized in each stage ...

NSLIC: SLIC superpixels based on nonstationarity measure
2015 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2015Superpixels become more and more popular as image preprocessing step in computer vision applications. In this paper, we propose an improved simple linear iterative clustering (SLIC) superpixel approach based on nonstationarity measure (NS-M), which is called nSLIC. An adjustive distance measure is developed in the five-dimensional [labxy] space.

The last few years has seen renewed interest in teaching programming-in-the-large (PIL) and programming-in-context of a larger existing program (PIC) throughout the computer science curriculum. Although these skills have been a focus of software engineering courses and capstone projects, there is an emphasis to teach these skills in other courses ...
