ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Noncommutative Cauchy integral formula
The aim of this paper is to provide and prove the most general Cauchy integral formula for slice regular functions and for C^1 functions on a real alternative *-algebra.

The Bohr Theorem for slice regular functions [PDF]
AbstractIn this paper we prove the Bohr Theorem for slice regular functions. Following the historical path that led to the proof of the classical Bohr Theorem, we also extend the Borel‐Carathéodory Theorem to the new setting.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

A direct approach to quaternionic manifolds
The recent definition of slice regular function of several quaternionic variables suggests a new notion of quaternionic manifold. We give the definition of quaternionic regular manifold, as a space locally modeled on $\mathbb{H}^n$, in a slice regular ...

MRI slice selection with scaling functions [PDF]
A new family of amplitude-only radiofrequency modulation waveforms for slice selection in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is presented. Based on the scaling functions associated to different wavelet families, these new envelope waves provide higher slice selectivity than gaussian or sinc functions.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Static Self-Forces in a Five-Dimensional Black Hole Spacetime [PDF]
We obtain the electric field and scalar field for a static point charge in closed form in the 5D Schwarzschild-Tangherlini black hole spacetime. We then compute the static self-force in each of these cases by assuming that the appropriate singular field ...
