Modeling a Slider-Crank Mechanism With Joint Wear
SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars - Mechanical Systems, 2009<div class="htmlview paragraph">The paper presents a study on the prediction of wear for systems in which progressive wear affects the operating conditions responsible for the wear. A simple slider-crank mechanism with wear occurring at one of the joints is used to facilitate the study.

Synthesis of optimum slider-crank mechanisms
Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1982Abstract For the spatial slider-crank mechanism formulas are obtained to allow the user determine the link sizes and slider offset for a predetermined stroke with an acceptable pressure angle at the extremes of slider travel as well as by a given angle between the crosshead guide of the slider and a plane in which the crank revolves.

Algebraic Algorithm for the Kinematic Analysis of Slider-Crank/Rocker Mechanisms
Volume 2: 34th Annual Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, Parts A and B, 2010This paper deals with the formulation of an algebraic algorithm for the kinematic analysis of slider-crank/rocker mechanisms, which is based on the use of geometric loci, as the fixed and moving centrodes, the cubic of stationary curvature and the inflection circle.

An Improved Design of Gravity Compensators Based on the Inverted Slider-Crank Mechanism
Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics, 2019The static balancing of mechanical systems is an important issue because it allows one to significantly decrease the size of actuators for equivalent displacements of the end effector.

Velocity fluctuation in spatial slider crank mechanisms
Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1981Abstract Velocity fluctuations have been recognized as important in the statics and dynamics of mechanisms [1]. The geometric conditions governing the existence of extreme velocity ratios in a spatial 4-link mechanism having two revolute, one cylindrical and one prismatic pair have been obtained.

Slider position control for slider-crank mechanisms with Jacobian compensator
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part I: Journal of Systems and Control Engineering, 2019In this work, a position control for slider-crank mechanisms without Jacobian and joint measurements is presented. A Jacobian compensator that depends on the sign of the direction of rotation of the input link and the output link is proposed. A linear sensor is mounted at the slider to measure its position.

Kinematic analysis of an adjustable slider-crank mechanism
2009In this paper a kinematic analysis of an adjustable slider-crank mechanism is presented. The proposed mechanism is formed by an output member, i.e. the slider, by a connecting rod and by an equivalent crank mechanism, consisting of a pair of identical gears and a connecting link assembled in a typical epicyclical configuration.

Adaptive control of slider-crank mechanism motion: simulations and experiments
International Journal of Systems Science, 1997Abstract The dynamic motion of an adaptive controlled slider-crank mechanism, which is driven by a permanent magnet ( PM) synchronous servo-motor, is studied. First, the mathematical model of the motor-mechanism coupling system is developed, where Hamilton's principle and the Lagrange multiplier method are applied to formulate the equation of motion ...

Simulation of a Slider-Crank Mechanism Driven by a Buoy for Wave Energy Converters Applications
IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference, 2019The generation of electric power from non-conventional sources has been in constant technological growth during the last decades. Among the non-conventional sources, the energy produced by the ocean has drawn the attention of many researchers due to ...
