Analysis and Synthesis of Slider-Crank Mechanisms for Automatic Machinery

Volume 2: 32nd Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, Parts A and B, 2008
This paper deals with the analysis and synthesis of slider-crank mechanisms, which are aimed to give suitable coupler curves for automatic machinery, as path generators. A practical method for the dimensional synthesis of slider-crank mechanisms is proposed by referring to a classical approach, which is based on the use of the centrodes, inflection ...

A microcantilever system with slider-crank actuation mechanism

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2015
Abstract A microcantilever system with new actuation principle is developed for enhancing the range of tip deflection. Differing from conventional springboard-like actuation principle, the proposed microcantilever system is based on a slider-crank mechanism.

Modeling a Slider-Crank Mechanism With Joint Wear

SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars - Mechanical Systems, 2009
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The paper presents a study on the prediction of wear for systems in which progressive wear affects the operating conditions responsible for the wear. A simple slider-crank mechanism with wear occurring at one of the joints is used to facilitate the study.

Synthesis of optimum slider-crank mechanisms

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1982
Abstract For the spatial slider-crank mechanism formulas are obtained to allow the user determine the link sizes and slider offset for a predetermined stroke with an acceptable pressure angle at the extremes of slider travel as well as by a given angle between the crosshead guide of the slider and a plane in which the crank revolves.

Algebraic Algorithm for the Kinematic Analysis of Slider-Crank/Rocker Mechanisms

Volume 2: 34th Annual Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, Parts A and B, 2010
This paper deals with the formulation of an algebraic algorithm for the kinematic analysis of slider-crank/rocker mechanisms, which is based on the use of geometric loci, as the fixed and moving centrodes, the cubic of stationary curvature and the inflection circle.

Design of Enlarging Vacuum Gripper Using Slider Crank Mechanism

2020 8th International Conference on Control, Mechatronics and Automation (ICCMA), 2020
Varieties of robotic grippers are developed with high flexibility and multi-functional approaches. In this paper, the study and design of an innovative approach of a gripper for handling variable size, shape and weight is proposed. This paper proposes a gripper that is capable of changing the distance between its two opposite grippers. For this purpose,

Velocity fluctuation in spatial slider crank mechanisms

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1981
Abstract Velocity fluctuations have been recognized as important in the statics and dynamics of mechanisms [1]. The geometric conditions governing the existence of extreme velocity ratios in a spatial 4-link mechanism having two revolute, one cylindrical and one prismatic pair have been obtained.

Efficient Balancing Optimization of a Simplified Slider-Crank Mechanism

2020 IEEE ANDESCON, 2020
High-speed link motion produces reactions that are transmitted to the base of mechanisms causing undesired effects such as vibrations, wear, and fatigue. These problems can be reduced or even better eliminated if a balancing technique is performed. To this day, most of the papers in the literature dealing with the balancing of mechanisms obtain the ...

Kinematic analysis of an adjustable slider-crank mechanism

2009
In this paper a kinematic analysis of an adjustable slider-crank mechanism is presented. The proposed mechanism is formed by an output member, i.e. the slider, by a connecting rod and by an equivalent crank mechanism, consisting of a pair of identical gears and a connecting link assembled in a typical epicyclical configuration.
