Modeling multi-cellular systems using sub-cellular elements [PDF]
We introduce a model for describing the dynamics of large numbers of interacting cells. The fundamental dynamical variables in the model are sub-cellular elements, which interact with each other through phenomenological intra- and inter-cellular ...

Patterns of cell movement within the Dictyostelium slug revealed by cell type-specific, surface labeling of living cells [PDF]
There are cells acattered in the rear, prespore region of the Dictyostelium slug that share many of the properties of the prestalk cells and that are therefore called anterior-like cells (ALCs).

Engineered Protein‐Based Ionic Conductors for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications
Rational incorporation of charged residues into an engineered, self‐assembling protein scaffold yields solid‐state protein films with outstanding ionic conductivity. Salt‐doping further enhances conductivity, an effect amplified in the engineered variants. These properties enable the material integration into an efficient supercapacitor.

CSSMA: A novel algorithm of slime mold optimzer for global optimization problems
Abstract The Slime Mold Algorithm (SMA) is a popular optimization algorithm in recent years. However, it suffers from weaknesses in exploration capability, insufficient balance, and a tendency to get trapped in local optima. To address these issues, this paper proposes a novel Slime Mold Algorithm based on Cosine Similarity and Population Range
