Enhanced casting rate by dynamic heating during slip casting

open access: yesJournal of the European Ceramic Society, 2002
Abstract The slip casting process is widely used to consolidate ceramic particles from aqueous suspensions to form green compacts, particularly those with complicated shapes. Raising the slip temperature during slip casting is known to increase the casting rate, this is believed to be via a decrease in water viscosity.

Slip Casting and Solid-State Reactive Sintering of BCZY(BaCexZr0.9−xY0.1O3−d)-NiO/BCZY Half-Cells [PDF]

open access: yesMembranes, 2022
Slip casting was used to prepare BaCexZr0.9−xY0.1O3−d(BCZY)-NiO tubes with a diameter of ½ inches (1.25 cm) and ¾ inches (1.875 cm). Two compositions were studied: BCZY18 and BCZY27 for x = 0.1 and 0.2, respectively.

Alumina matrix ceramic-nickel composites formed by centrifugal slip casting [PDF]

open access: yesProcessing and Application of Ceramics, 2015
The paper is focused on the possibility of fabricating the alumina matrix ceramic-nickel composites with gradient concentration of metal particles. Centrifugal slip casting method was chosen for the composite fabrication.

Comparison between slip-casting and uniaxial pressing for the fabrication of translucent yttria ceramics

open access: yesJournal of Materials Science, 2008
Slip casting and uniaxial pressing were compared as first consolidation stages prior to cold isostatic pressing (CIP) to produce translucent yttria ceramics. In the first step, yttria slurries suitable for slip casting were prepared.

Dense lanthanum silicate oxyapatite ceramics obtained by uniaxial pressing and slip casting [PDF]

open access: yesScience of Sintering, 2018
Lanthanum silicate oxyapatite (LSO) is a promising ion conductive ceramic material, which has higher oxygen ion conductivity at intermediate temperatures (600-800°C) compared to yttria-stabilized zirconia.

Effects of plaster to water ratio on physical and mechanical properties of ceramic pieces produced by the slip casting process [PDF]

open access: yesCerâmica, 2022
In the slip casting process, the relationship between the amount of plaster and water used in the production of molds influences the production of ceramic materials, because the higher the water content in the mixture, the lower the mechanical strength ...
