Digital slope-threshold data compressor [PDF]
Slope-threshold compression scheme for telemetered video data is efficient, and its principle of operation is as follows: when slope of raw data exceeds threshold decision reference, previous sample is transmitted.

Modules with irrational slope over tubular algebras
Let $A$ be a tubular algebra and let $r$ be a positive irrational. Let ${\mathcal D}_r$ be the definable subcategory of $A$-modules of slope $r$. Then the width of the lattice of pp formulas for ${\mathcal D}_r$ is $\infty$.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Efficacy of deterrents for mitigating human‐polar bear conflict in northern Alaska
A warming climate is negatively affecting Arctic species that rely on sea ice to perform their life history activities. Changing sea ice dynamics have led polar bears in many subpopulations to spend more time on land, increasing the potential for human ...

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Influence of Alpine Forest Types on Soil Microbial Diversity and Soil Quality
Alpine forests are key regulators of soil biogeochemical cycles, yet the extent to which forest type constrains soil microbial diversity and soil quality in high-elevation regions remains insufficiently resolved.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Flood Potential Zonation Using Analytic Hierarchy Process in Kurdistan Province [PDF]
Preparation of flood zoning maps is one of the primary and necessary measures in the management of flood prone areas. In this study, analytic hierarchy process, and geographic information system were used to assess and zoning the flood potential map in ...

The Spectral Slope and Kolmogorov Constant of MHD turbulence
The spectral slope of strong MHD turbulence has recently been a matter of controversy. While Goldreich-Sridhar model (1995) predicts Kolmogorov's -5/3 slope of turbulence, shallower slopes were often reported by numerical studies.
