Negative slope dispersion compensating fibers

OFC/IOOC . Technical Digest. Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 1999, and the International Conference on Integrated Optics and Optical Fiber Communication, 2003
Two types of DC fibers are presented. The first is an improved high figure of merit (267) negative slope dispersion-compensating fiber intended for DC modules. Also presented is a type II DC fiber intended for field deployment that leads to total broadband dispersion compensation.

Fiber Bragg gratings for pure dispersion-slope compensation

Optics Letters, 2003
Single-fiber Bragg gratings designed to compensate for pure third-order dispersion are demonstrated. The devices are designed by use of a layer-peeling inverse-scattering technique and exhibit dispersion profiles across their reflection bandwidths of -20, +/- 40, and -225 ps/nm2 over bandwidths of 4.5, 6, and 3 nm, respectively.

Compensation ability evaluation of part-compensation lens based on slope asphericity

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
The accurate evaluation on the compensation range of part-compensation lens is beneficial to guide the design of part-compensation lens and realize fast testing on many aspheric surfaces. The prior evaluation methods based on asphericity have error judge occurred, thus reduce the compensation range of part-compensation lens negatively, further ...

Sampled fiber grating based-dispersion slope compensator

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 1999
We propose a novel design for a compact dispersion slope compensator based on sampled fiber Bragg gratings. By chirping the sample function in a sampled grating, we show that the dispersion slope can be controlled to match that of current transmission fibers.

Long-haul soliton WDM transmission with periodic dispersion compensation and dispersion slope compensation

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1998
A 20 Gb/s-based soliton wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) transmission experiments using periodic dispersion compensation and dispersion slope compensation were demonstrated. Accumulated dispersion slope was compensated with two methods. The first method was periodical individual dispersion compensation.

Transmissive in-fiber Fabry-Perot etalons as tunable dispersion compensators and dispersion-slope compensators

Optics Letters, 2003
We report for what is believed to be the first time the use of transmissive fiber Bragg grating-based Fabry-Perot etalons for tunable dispersion compensation and dispersion-slope compensation. The resulting device has a number of advantages, such as low cost, ease of fabrication, full optical fiber compatibility, and simplicity.

PVT Compensation for Wilkinson Single-Slope Measurement Systems

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2012
A pulse-width locked loop (PWLL) circuit is reported that compensates for process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) variations of a linear ramp generator within a 12-bit multi-channel Wilkinson (single-slope integrating) Analog-to-Digital converter (ADC).

Sea bottom slope compensation apparatus

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1984
A sonar system for the detection of signals reflected from a sloping ocean bed in which a sample of the transmitted signal is modified to correspond to the received signal as modified by the sea bottom before both signals are applied to a correlation detector.

Dispersion Slope Compensation with Co-directional Optical Couplers

Integrated Photonics Research, 2002
Dispersion slope compensation with co-directional coupler is numerically demonstrated. The profile of the coupling coefficient is obtained by an inverse scattering technique for the coupled mode equations. A third order dispersion in the phase response of the coupler for dispersion slope compensation is obtained.
