Planar Slot-Array Antenna

Planar antennas employing printed circuit techniques are ideally suited for aircraft, spacecraft and mobile-land applications. Keeping these in view, a 12×4-element planar array antenna has been developed. The antenna has a power gain of 19 dB. It has a half power beamwidth of 6° in the H-plane and 20° in the E-plane.

The slot dipole is a wide bandwidth (20%), low efficiency (20%) radiator suitable for use in for use in serial slot arrays, and is subject to beam steering with frequency.

Slot antenna array on triangular waveguide

A new slot array antenna is presented which is based on triangular waveguide. The modes and the leakage of an imperfectly fabricated waveguide are examined by simulation, and this helps to identify a low cost structure. The slots are in the two side walls of the triangular waveguide.
