Unidirectional miniaturized slot antennas
2008 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium, 2008A technique for designing unidirectional miniaturized slot antennas is presented in this paper. Our approach takes advantage of the simultaneous application of two different techniques used to reduce the lateral dimensions of a shallow cavity-backed slot antenna.

A meander slot antenna fed by a strip line is proposed. The length of the slot meander antenna is less than one-eighth of the effective wavelength, while the radiation pattern is similar to that of conventional microstrip antennas. The resonant and radiation properties of the proposed antennas have been examined, and good agreement between simulated ...

Concentric annular slot antenna
Proceedings of 2014 Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS2014), 2014This paper focuses primarily on improving the gain of the circular microstrip patch antenna thanks to the presence of two concentric annular slots. The proposed antenna is excited by a coaxial probe and the design was aided by simulation through using CST resonance antenna at 4.38GHz with gain of 10.2dB and 12.1dB without and with slot respectively ...

Metasurface enhanced slot antennas
2016 10th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP), 2016This paper studies several metasurface enhanced slot antenna. The metasurface is placed on top of the slots, which allows extending their radiating aperture, leading to narrower E-Plane radiation pattern and larger gain. An example is given in which a slotted waveguide antenna gain increases 8 dB with respect to the conventional slotted waveguide ...

The concept of a natural slot antenna for very low frequency is discussed. It is suggested that a viable system needs to have an insulated cavity backing the slot aperture.

A novel cavity-backed slot antenna is proposed and experimentally studied. The antenna consists of a slot cut in a ground plane and backed by shorting strips, forming a backing cavity. Preliminary results based on a prototype show a 2:1 VSWR input impedance bandwidth of more than 20%, which can be further enhanced.

AbstractOne of the self‐complementary antennas is axially symmetric and three‐dimensional. Since this antenna has an axially‐symmetrical antenna, made of a finite‐sized plate, it becomes a hard‐to‐control multibeam antenna. to obtain a single beam we remove one of the unipole arrays from a self‐complementary unipole‐slot array antenna made of two ...

Wideband columnar slot antenna
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2016ABSTRACTA wideband columnar antenna featuring a radiating slot cut around the outside circumference of a rectangular waveguide is presented. The antenna operates effectively in the frequency band of 1.51–4.75 GHz. The antenna also exhibits a reasonably good omnidirectional pattern in the horizontal plane, with predominantly vertical polarization.

Two types of dual-spiral slot antennas characterised by their simple feed are studied; one is a bidirectional radiation type (Bi-DSS) and the other is a unidirectional type (Uni-DSS). The radiation characteristics of the Bi-DSS are evaluated using the numerically determined magnetic current distribution.
