This work demonstrates a receiver‐transmitter‐integrated metasurface that decomposes an incident wave into orthogonal components and routes them into separate channels. Inspired by a “Wheel‐of‐Fortune” mechanism, it enables independent control over the amplitude, phase, and polarization of the transmitted wave.

Investigation of a novel silicon-on-insulator Rib-Slot photonic sensor based on the vernier effect and operating at 3.8 µm [PDF]
In this paper, we present the theoretical investigation of photonic sensors based on Vernier effect with two cascade-coupled ring resonators in silicon on insulator technology. The photonic chip utilizes rib and slot waveguides designed to operate at 3.8

Mode splitting in meta‐waveguide microring resonators (MWMRs) effectively suppresses baseline drift and measurement noise while maintaining high refractive‐index sensitivity. This reflection‐induced mode splitting strategy enables quantitative detection of ultra‐weak surface perturbations and establishes MWMRs as a robust, drift‐immune platform for ...

Polarization splitter using horizontal slot waveguide
In this paper a compact and efficient polarization splitter using horizontal slotted waveguides is presented. The splitter is designed by finite-difference-time-domain simulation and realized experimentally. The splitter is built by using a direction coupler consisting of two horizontal slotted waveguides and achieves a high extinction ratio of 14.1 ...

Millimeter Wave Substrate Integrated Waveguide Antennas: Design and Fabrication Analysis [PDF]
The paper presents a new concept in antenna design, whereby a photo-imageable thick-film process is used to integrate a waveguide antenna within a multilayer structure. This has yielded a very compact, high performance antenna working at high millimeter-

Metalens‐Enabled Twisted Chromatic Dispersion
We successfully demonstrate visible broadband twisted dispersion metalenses. As a proof of concept, we realized two distinct devices: the conical helical and the spring‐like dispersion‐controlled metalenses. These results rigorously validate the universality of our approach in customizing arbitrary continuous 3D dispersion trajectories, thereby ...

Ultracompact Electroabsorption Modulators Based on Tunable Epsilon-Near-Zero-Slot Waveguides
We present a promising application of epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) materials in optical modulators. When a thin ENZ film is sandwiched in a single-mode waveguide, an ENZ-slot waveguide is formed, where the absorption can be greatly enhanced.
