Classification of convergence rates of solutions of perturbed ordinary differential equations with regularly varying nonlinearity

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2016
In this paper we consider the rate of convergence of solutions of a scalar ordinary differential equation which is a perturbed version of an autonomous equation with a globally stable equilibrium.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Bifurcation analysis of a paradigmatic model of monsoon prediction [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 2005
Local and global bifurcation structure of the forced Lorenz model in the r-F plane is investigated. The forced Lorenz model is a conceptual model for understanding the influence of the slowly varying boundary forcing like Sea Surface Temperature (SST) on

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

The (De)confinement Transition in Tachyonic Matter at Finite Temperature

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2019
We present a QCD motivated model that mimics QCD theory. We examine the characteristics of the gauge field coupled with the color dielectric function (G) in the presence of temperature (T).

On Convergence Rates of Some Limits

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
In 2019 Seneta has provided a characterization of slowly varying functions L in the Zygmund sense by using the condition, for each y > 0 , x L ( x + y ) L ( x ) − 1 → 0 as x → ∞ .

Generalized Slow Roll for Non-Canonical Kinetic Terms

open access: yes, 2011
We show that the generalized slow-roll approach for calculating the power spectrum where the inflationary slow roll parameters are neither small nor slowly varying can be readily extended to models with non-canonical kinetic terms in the inflaton action.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Perturbative dynamics on fuzzy S^2 and RP^2

open access: yes, 2001
By considering scalar theories on the fuzzy sphere as matrix models, we construct a renormalization scheme and calculate the one-loop effective action. Because of UV-IR mixing, the two- and the four-point correlators at low energy are not slowly varying ...
