Corrigendum to "Hydrodynamic and mass transfer in inertial gas-liquid flow regimes through straight and meandering millimetric square channels" [Chem. Eng. Sci. 66 (2011) 2974-2990] [PDF]
Heat-exchanger reactors are an important part of process intensification technology. For plate geometries, one solution for intensifying transfer and increasing residence times is to construct two-dimensional meandering channels.

HSP70 governs permeability and mechanotransduction in primary human endothelial cells
HSP70 chemical inhibition reduces endothelial cell proliferation and increases permeability, the latter supported by normal interendothelial junctional protein distribution. HSP70 also plays a role in shear stress response, a hemodynamic force naturally present in blood vessels and correlated with vessel protection.

Preliminary Results of Numerical Simulation of Slug Flow in a Regular T-Junction
Excessive liquid carryover in T-junction due to splitting nature of two-phase flow causes serious issues in piping system. A three-dimensional numerical model is employed to investigate two-phase flow split behavior of slug flow in a circular-section ...

Hydraulic model of steady state multiphase flow in wellbore annuli
Based on the classification and flow behaviors of two phase flow in wellbore annuli, the hydraulic models for slug flow and annular flow in annuli for vertical or inclined wells were established, and the flow regime transition criteria were also obtained.

The effect of tube diameter on vertical two-phase flow regimes in small tubes [PDF]
Flow boiling flow patterns in four circular tubes with internal diameters of 1.10, 2.01, 2.88 and 4.26 mm were investigated in the present project. The experiments were conducted in vertical upward two-phase flow using R134a as the working fluid.

Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

R134a flow patterns in small diameter tubes [PDF]
R134a vapour-liquid two-phase flow patterns were studied in vertical small diameter tubes. The observed flow patterns include bubbly, dispersed bubble, slug, churn, annular and mist flow.

A Note on the Unsteady Cavity Flow in a Tunnel [PDF]
The unsteady internal cavitating flow such as the one observed in a pump or a turbine is studied for a simple two-dimensional model of a base-cavitating wedge in an infinite tunnel and it is shown how the cavitation compliance can be calculated using the

Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

The bubbly-slug transition in a high velocity two phase flow [PDF]
A possible mechanism for the transition between bubbly and slug flow is proposed and tested in a simulated slug flow system. No sudden collapse of slug flow with increasing velocity is found and it is concluded that: a.
