Reconfiguration in low-inertia microgrids (MGs) can often result in a critical small-signal stability margin. In this condition, the ability of inverter-based resources (IBRs) to provide voltage and frequency support may be insufficient.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Small-Signal stability analysis of MMC-HVDC system with saturated transformer
Transformer saturation has a significant impact on the stability of HVDC systems. While traditional research has primarily focused on LCC-HVDC systems, studies on MMC systems remain limited. Given the anticipated dominance of MMC technology in the future,

Small signal stability region of power systems with DFIG in injection space
The modal analysis method is utilized to study the influence of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) on electromechanical oscillations. On this basis, the small signal stability region (SSSR) of power systems with DFIG in injection space is evaluated ...

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

Delay‐dependent small‐signal stability analysis of inverter‐based islanded microgrids
The stability of an inverter‐based hierarchical microgrid is challenged by inverter controls, network dynamics, load models and communication delays among the interacting agents.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
