Characterization of the Ferrara animal PET scanner
A dedicated small animal PET scanner, YAPPET, was designed and built at Ferrara University. Each detector consists of a 20 x 20 matrix of 2 x 2 x 30 mm(3) YAP:Ce finger-like crystals glued together and directly coupled to a Hamamatsu position sensitive ...

Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Preliminary test results on the new electronic readout of the YAP-(S)PET small animal scanner
A small animal PET-SPECT scanner (YAP-(S)PET) prototype was built at the Physics Department of the University of Ferrara and is presently being used at the Nuclear Medicine Department for radiopharmaceutical studies on rats. The first YAP(S)PET prototype

Entropy‐Driven Design of Low‐Melting‐Point Alloys via Compositionally Complex Strategy
Conventional low‐melting‐point alloys (LMPAs) are limited by a narrow compositional space and inherent property trade‐offs. This review presents an entropy‐driven design strategy that overcomes these limitations, ushering in a new class of low‐melting‐point compositionally complex alloys (LMCCAs).

Event-by-event motion compensation for small animal PET
In small animal PET imaging anaesthesia is usually required to eliminate motion. However, both anaesthesia and the alternative of forcibly restraining the animal, can disturb the very biochemical pathways that are of most interest in the brain.
