Combined small-cell lung carcinoma

open access: yesOncoTargets and Therapy, 2018
Currently, studies assessing combined small-cell lung carcinoma (C-SCLC) are relatively scarce and limited. Indeed the clinicopathological features, treatment, and prognosis of patients with C-SCLC have not been fully determined. The incidence of C-SCLC ranges from 5%-28% in different studies, which is related to the specimen types used.

The Comparative Pathology of Genetically Engineered Mouse Models for Neuroendocrine Carcinomas of the Lung [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Introduction: Because small-cell lung carcinomas (SCLC) are seldom resected, human materials for study are limited. Thus, genetically engineered mouse models (GEMMs) for SCLC and other high-grade lung neuroendocrine (NE) carcinomas are crucial for ...

Histological transformation of adenocarcinoma to small cell carcinoma lung as a rare mechanism of resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors: Report of a case with review of literature

open access: yesLung India, 2018
A subset of non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCC) harbor active mutations of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). In these, EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) are recommended as the first-line treatment.
