Analysis the effect of handling facilities on the quality of fishes landed at fish auction market

open access: yesDepik Jurnal
Research related to the influence of facilities on the quality of fish landed and auctioned has been done previously, but the catches under this study are still limited to large pelagic fish with complex fish auction facilities.

Wasp-waist interactions in the North Sea ecosystem. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
In a "wasp-waist" ecosystem, an intermediate trophic level is expected to control the abundance of predators through a bottom-up interaction and the abundance of prey through a top-down interaction.

Biology and Fishery for Atlantic Thread Herring, Opisthonema oglinum, along the North Carolina Coast [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Thread herrings, Opisthonema spp., are small, nearshore, pelagic clupeid fishes that form dense, surface schools in tropical to subtropical coastal waters.

Bioinspired Morphology‐Decoupled Soft Gripper with Enhanced Bidirectional Grasping Capability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological predation, a novel gripper decouples cross‐modal grasping via dual morphological configurations. Synergistically integrating hybrid rigid and soft coupled fingers with a metamaterial palm, the system performs active compliant grasping for static objects and passive cage capture for dynamic targets.

Insights into ‘Srdelara’ Purse Seines: Landing Composition and Trophic Relationships in the Pelagic Food Web

open access: yesFishes
This study analysed commercial ‘Srdelara’ purse seine landings in the Central Eastern Adriatic from November 2020 to March 2022. The observed commercial landings demonstrated typical seasonal variations, with a peak from September to November and the ...

Global multi-decadal ocean climate and small-pelagic fish population

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2007
Ocean climate, environmental and biological conditions vary on several spatio-temporal scales. Besides climate change associated with anthropogenic activity, there is growing evidence of a natural global multi-decadal climate signal in the ocean–atmosphere–biosphere climate system.

Heterojunction‐Engineered Mass Spectrometry Platform for Deciphering Serum Metabolic Fingerprints in Diagnosis of Respiratory Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hollow Co3O4/TiO2 heterojunctions are engineered for high‐throughput laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry. The built‐in electric field drives efficient charge separation and photothermal conversion, while the hierarchical mesoporous network enables robust salt and protein tolerance.

Transitions in the morphological features, habitat use, and diet of young-of-the-year goosefish (Lophius americanus) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This study was designed to improve our understanding of transitions in the early life history and the distribution, habitat use, and diets for young-of-the-year (YOY) goosefish (Lophius americanus) and, as a result, their role in northeastern U.S ...

Changes in the structure and functionof the North Sea fish foodweb, 1973-2000, and the impacts of fishing and climate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
North Sea environmental and biological data were analysed to examine 30-year changes in production and consumption in the fish food web. The analysis revealed that the demand for secondary production placed on the ecosystem by fish declined from ...

Degradation Pathways of Silicon‐Based Anodes in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Silicon‐based anodes undergo degradation through five primary pathways: (1) mechanical and structural deterioration of the active material, (2) loss of electrode integrity and electrical contact, (3) mechanical instability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), characterized by repetitive fracture and deformation, (4) chemical instability of the ...
