Methodology for Small-Signal Stability Emergency Control in Low-Inertia Power Systems Using Phasor Measurements and Machine Learning Algorithms: A Data-Driven Approach

open access: yesMathematics
In the process of decarbonizing electricity generation, renewable energy sources are actively being integrated into traditional power systems. As a result, the inertia of the energy system is reduced, and the speed of transition processes is accelerated.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Predicting the stability of profiling signals of small RNAs

open access: yes
Profiling is a process that finds similarities between different RNA secondary structures by extracting signals from the Boltzmann sampling. The reproducibility of profiling can be identified by the standard deviation of number of features among Boltzmann samples. We found a strong relationship between the frequency of each helix class and its standard

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Small-Signal Stability Analysis of Power Systems by Implicit Multilinear Models

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper proposes a new approach to perform small-signal stability analysis based on linearization of implicit multilinear models. Multilinear models describe the system dynamics by multilinear functions of state, input, and algebraic variables.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Dynamic impact of hybrid wind-solar photovoltaic power injection on small signal stability of Nigerian 11kV power system using Self Organizing Map neural network

open access: yesScientific African
Power industry reorganization, legislation on greenhouse gas emissions and inadequate conventional generation capacity encourage the idea of incorporating Distributed Generation (DG) into the distribution networks as unconventional sources of power ...

A New Fuzzy Stabilizer Based on Online Learning Algorithm for Damping of Low-Frequency Oscillations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Optimization in Industrial Engineering, 2015
A multi objective Honey Bee Mating Optimization (HBMO) designed by online learning mechanism is proposed in this paper to optimize the double Fuzzy-Lead-Lag (FLL) stabilizer parameters in order to improve low-frequency oscillations in a multi machine ...
