IGARSS 2020 - 2020 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2020
The National Aeronautics Space Administration's (NASA‘s) Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission will be completing its first extension phase in August 2020. The uncertainty of SMAP soil moisture products is≤ 0.04 m3/m3. During the first extension phase, SMAP data have been used to advance our understanding of water, energy and carbon cycles ...

IGARSS 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2019
The Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission, launched on January 31, 2015, has completed its primary 3-year mission and is currently in its extended mission. Although operation occurs within the protected frequency allocation of 1400-1427 MHz, the SMAP radiometer is impacted by radio frequency interference (RFI).

Calibration of the SMAP Radiometer for Ocean Applications
IGARSS 2020 - 2020 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2020We present and discuss the details of the SMAP radiometer calibration that is used in the NASA/RSS ocean surface salinity algorithm. The values for antenna spillover, noise diode and reflector emissivity are fine-tuned to give accurate antenna and brightness temperature values for the global ocean and the Amazon rain forest.

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 1991, 1991
Abstract The original seismic mis-tie adjustment procedure (SMAP) is restricted to uniform grids of 2-D seismic lines. In many areas, uniform grids do not occur, especially with multiple-vintage coverage. An alternative method is proposed still using linear programming techniques to simultaneously minimize the maximum error and ...
