On the Unusual Depletions toward Sk 155, or What Are the Small Magellanic Cloud Dust Grains Made of?
The dust in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), an ideal analog of primordial galaxies at high redshifts, differs markedly from that in the Milky Way by exhibiting a steeply rising far-ultraviolet extinction curve, an absence of the 2175 Angstrom ...

This study reveals that FAP promotes thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) through a nonenzymatic mechanism involving fibroblast‐macrophage crosstalk via the FAP/PLAUR/ITGB1/FAK axis. Targeting this pathway might offer a promising therapeutic strategy for TAD.

Red Giants in the Small Magellanic Cloud. I. Disk and Tidal Stream Kinematics
We present results from an extensive spectroscopic survey of field stars in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC). 3037 sources, predominantly first-ascent red giants, spread across roughly 37.5 sq. deg, are analysed.

Helix Alignment, Chevrons, and Edge Dislocations in Twist‐Bend Ferroelectric Nematics
The recently discovered twist‐bend ferroelectric nematic (NTBF) is the new member of the multiferroic family, representing a fluid with an oblique helicoidal (heliconical) periodic structure of spontaneous electric polarization. The work presents a thorough exploration of the material properties of this phase, how the periodic modulation of ...

The Araucaria Project. The distance to the Small Magellanic Cloud from late-type eclipsing binaries
We present a distance determination to the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) based on an analysis of four detached, long period, late type eclipsing binaries discovered by the OGLE Survey.
