The anti-hyperuricemic effect of four astilbin stereoisomers in Smilax glabra on hyperuricemic mice

Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2019
Smilax glabra Roxb. (SG), a Chinese medicinal herb which called "tufuling", is believed to be effective in treating hyperuricemia and gout symptoms. But the active substance and pharmacological mechanism of reducing uric acid remain unknown. This study aimed to obtain the total flavonoids including four astilbin stereoisomers and to examine their ...

[Rapid propagation of Smilax glabra in vitro].

Zhong yao cai = Zhongyaocai = Journal of Chinese medicinal materials, 2006
In vitro propagation of Smilax glabra Roxb. was studied. The results indicated that sterilized explants cultured on MS + 6-BA 1.0 mg/L + NAA 0.1 mg/L could lead to budding fastly, the medium MS + 6-BA 1.0 mg/L + NAA 0.1 mg/L + 15% CM suitable for the proliferation, 3/2MS + 6-BA 0.05 mg/L + 4% Sugar suitable for buds strong.

Molecular structures, chemical properties and biological activities of polysaccharide from Smilax glabra rhizome

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2018
The water-soluble crude polysaccharides, extracted from the rhizome of Smilax glabra, were fractionated using an anion exchange chromatography, yielding two fractions, F1 and F2. The crude and fractions (F1 and F2) mainly consisted of carbohydrates (66.7%-91.1%), proteins (7.30%-23.9%) and minor amount of sulfates (1.60%-9.40%).

Purification of astilbin and isoastilbin in the extract of smilax glabra rhizome by high-speed counter-current chromatography

Journal of Chromatography A, 2005
Purification of astilbin from the rhizome extract of Smilax glabra was conducted using a high-speed counter-current chromatograph equipped with a 700 mL column. In a single operation, 1.5 g of crude sample was separated to yield 105 mg of component astilbin and 48 mg of isoastilbin while the upper phase of the two-phase solvent system composed of n ...
