Review of CFD modelling techniques for single‐phase and multiphase flow in static mixers

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approaches for static mixers, linking hydrodynamics to pressure drop, particle/droplet distributions, mixing metrics, and heat‐transfer performance to guide modelling choices and design decisions. Abstract Static mixers enable compact and low‐energy intensification.

Control measures for neglected tropical diseases: vaccine updates

open access: yesExpert Review of Vaccines
Introduction Infectious diseases like neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) have seen a rapid surge in recent times, threatening public health. These diseases impose a significant global health burden, affecting individuals, particularly in tropical ...

Tailored lymph node dissection in right hemicolectomy: a retrospective study focusing on the anterior tissue of the superior mesenteric vein surgical trunk [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ
Background The optimal extent of lymph node dissection in right hemicolectomy for colon cancer remains a topic of debate. This study aimed to refine lymph node dissection strategies by investigating the histopathological characteristics of the anterior ...

Geological carbon dioxide storage in the German North Sea: Static‐to‐dynamic capacity refinement for a 10 Mt/y injection scenario

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study assesses whether a saline aquifer in the German North Sea can sustain industrial‐scale CO2 injection at 10 Mt/year over 30 years. A 3D reservoir model is used to compare static capacity with dynamically achievable storage. The work links site‐scale injection strategy design with basin‐scale pressure response, providing a framework for ...

Soybean Endo-1,3-Beta-Glucanase (GmGLU) Interaction With Soybean mosaic virus-Encoded P3 Protein May Contribute to the Intercelluar Movement

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2020
Soybean mosaic virus (SMV), a member of the genus Potyvirus, is a prevalent and devastating viral pathogen in soybean-growing regions worldwide. Potyvirus-encoded P3 protein is reported to participate in virus replication, movements, and pathogenesis ...

Histological Analysis of Cryopreserved Venous Allografts Used for Liver Transplantation and Hepato‐Biliary‐Pancreatic Surgery

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cryopreserved venous allografts, which we pioneered in 1999 for use in living donor liver transplantation and hepato‐biliary‐pancreatic surgery, are widely used and are believed to preserve vascular architecture with minimal anticoagulation or immunosuppression requirements and patency comparable to autologous grafts.

The HC-Pro and P3 Cistrons of an Avirulent Soybean mosaic virus Are Recognized by Different Resistance Genes at the Complex Rsv1 Locus

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2013
The complex Rsv1 locus in soybean plant introduction (PI) ‘PI96983’ confers extreme resistance (ER) against Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) strain N but not SMV-G7 and SMV-G7d.

Phylogenetic Analysis Using an SMV Tool

open access: yes, 2011
The need for general methods to verify biological properties in phylogenetics motivates research in formal frameworks so that biologists can focus their efforts exclusively in evolution modeling and property specification. Model checking is proposed to this end.

Model Checking PSL Using HOL and SMV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In our previous work, we formally validated the correctness of a translation from a subset of Accellera's Property Specification Language (PSL) to linear temporal logic (LTL) using the HOL theorem prover. We also built an interface from HOL to the SMV model checker based on a formal translation of LTL to ω-automata.

From Flybys to Sample Return: A Review of Space Probes and Robotic Sampling Technologies for Small Bodies

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As a crucial puzzle piece of deep space exploration, exploring small bodies can provide significant scientific insights and valuable mineral resources. Unlike missions to the Moon and Mars, small‐body missions pose distinct technical challenges, including communication delays, weak gravity, and uncertain environments. This paper reviews a full
