Formin-dependent TGF-β signaling for epithelial to mesenchymal transition. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The role of distinct actin filament architectures in epithelial plasticity remains incompletely understood. We therefore determined roles for formins and the Arp2/3 complex, which are actin nucleators generating unbranched and branched actin filaments ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Lipids analysis in hemolymph of African giant Achatina fulica (Bowdich, 1822) exposed to different photoperiods

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
The influence of different photophases (0, 6, 12, 18 and 24 hours) on the triglycerides and total cholesterol contents in the hemolymph of A. fulica was evaluated, since there is no information in the literature about the influence of this factor on ...

Versatile Magneto‐Dielectric Response of Epitaxial Thin Films of the High Entropy Oxide Perovskite Nd(Cr0.2Mn0.2Fe0.2Co0.2Ni0.2)O3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The magnetic high entropy oxide perovskite Nd(Cr0.2Mn0.2Fe0.2Co0.2Ni0.2)O3 exhibits a substantially large dielectric constant (εr) at room temperature, which shows distinct anionic and cationic contributions in the form of zero and finite bias peaks, respectively, down to its magnetic transition temperature (Tmag).

Downregulation of CHIP promotes ovarian cancer metastasis by inducing Snail‐mediated epithelial–mesenchymal transition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, 2019
The epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) plays a pivotal role in the conversion of early‐stage tumors into invasive malignancies. The transcription factor Snail, an extremely unstable protein whose subcellular levels are regulated by many E3 ubiquitin

Interference of the Snail Physa Sayii with Equilibrium in Tropisternus Glaber (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
[excerpt] On January 9, 1964, a larva of the hydrophilid beetle Tropister- nus, glaber (Herbst) was removed from an aquarium and placed in a fin- ger bowl of water along with a sprig of coontail (Ceratop7tyllum demer- sum Linnaeus).
