Optimal Axes of Siberian Snakes for Polarized Proton Acceleration [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.STAccel.Beams7:121001,2004, 2004
Accelerating polarized proton beams and storing them for many turns can lead to a loss of polarization when accelerating through energies where a spin rotation frequency is in resonance with orbit oscillation frequencies. First-order resonance effects can be avoided by installing Siberian Snakes in the ring, devices which rotate the spin by 180 degrees

Phytochemical analysis, molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations of selected phytoconstituents from four herbs as anti-dotes for snake bites

open access: yes, 2016
The Irula community constitutes a small tribal community living in different parts of India and their main occupation is snake catching. They have rich knowledge about medicinal plants and their uses against various ailments.

High-dose versus low-dose antivenom in the treatment of poisonous snake bites: A systematic review

open access: yesIndian Journal of Critical Care Medicine, 2015
Though snake antivenom (SAV) is the mainstay of therapy for poisonous snake bites, there is no universally accepted standard regimen regarding the optimum dose (low vs. high).

A study on the clinical, epidemiological profile and the outcome of the snake bite victims in kashmir valley

open access: yesJournal of Family Medicine and Primary Care, 2022
Background: India is estimated to have the highest snakebite mortality in the world. In India, around 250,000 incidents of snake bite are reported annually with 50,000 deaths. There are about 236 species of snakes in India, most of which are nonpoisonous.

A Never-Ending Story: Revisiting Requirements Major Misunderstandings [PDF]

open access: yesCadernos Do IME Serie Informatica 48 (2023)

Folk tale says that the design of the medallion changed for the Wolfgang Petersen movie, depicting an even deeper image of infinity. The medallion turned out to be an icon for the story fans.

Reliability-output Decoding of Tail-biting Convolutional Codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present extensions to Raghavan and Baum's reliability-output Viterbi algorithm (ROVA) to accommodate tail-biting convolutional codes. These tail-biting reliability-output algorithms compute the exact word-error probability of the decoded codeword after first calculating the posterior probability of the decoded tail-biting codeword's starting state ...

Looptree, Fennec, and Snake of ICRT [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We introduce a new theory of plane $\mathbb R$-tree, to define plane ICRT (inhomogeneous continuum random tree), and its looptree, fennec (a Gaussian free field on the looptree), and snake. We prove that a.s. the looptree is compact, and that a.s. the fennec and snake are continuous.
