Soft sensor for snow density measurements

open access: yes, 2022
The aim of this project was to examine if a machine learning model could be used to predict snow density from six different weather parameters. These were artificially generated snow density, air temperature, ground temperature, relative humidity, windspeed and the snow depth change.

Combining the Underwater Vision Profiler 6 with sediment traps to measure in situ velocity of marine particles

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, EarlyView.
Abstract Particles sinking from the surface to the deep ocean play a key role in the biological carbon pump, whose efficiency depends partly on sinking velocities. Over the last decade, in situ imaging has enabled critical advances in our understanding of particle dynamics in the ocean.

Effects of preservatives and poisons on the elemental and isotopic composition of freshwater particulate organic matter

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, EarlyView.
Abstract Sediment traps, often used in tandem with preservatives or poisons, are widely used for the collection of particulate organic matter (POM), providing insight into the source to sink mechanisms that shape major biogeochemical cycles and sedimentary carbon sequestration.

The effect of hardwood group cutting on accumulation, density and temperature of snow (Case study: Kheyrud forest research station) [PDF]

open access: yesمجله جنگل ایران, 2013
Tree cutting can affect different aspects of forests. To investigate the changes on snow accumulation, density and temperature due to tree cutting in the forest, two forestry regions were selected, one control and the other the cutting region.

Liking Without Endorsing: Consumer Dilemmas in Responses to AI‐Generated Music

open access: yesPsychology &Marketing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite a growing literature documenting consumer aversion to AI‐generated creative output, AI‐generated music has achieved notable success in the marketplace, with some songs achieving chart placements and attracting millions of streams.

easyGBDR: An Integrated R Toolkit for Comprehensive Secondary Analysis of Global Burden of Disease Database

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) database provides essential primary data for public health research. However, its complexity and diversity pose challenges for conducting advanced secondary analyses. To address these challenges, we developed easyGBDR, an innovative integrated R toolkit designed to facilitate the secondary analysis of GBD ...
