DC-SSCB Snubber for Electric Propulsion Ships With Effective Surge Voltage Reduction and Fast Dissipation of Fault Current Energy

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper proposes a snubber circuit for SSCB that performs voltage clamping operation in two stages to reduce surge voltage. The surge voltage is suppressed in the first stage using a MOV with low operating initiation and clamping voltages.

Switching characteristics and efficiency improvement with auxiliaryresonant snubber based soft-switching inverters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The auxiliary resonant snubber inverter (RSI) has demonstrated superiority in reduction of switching losses and dv/dt. It was found that the overall inverter system efficiency might not be improved if the resonant current was not controlled in accordance

Ultra High Step‐Up Soft Switching Converter Based on the Interleaved Structure

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 1, Page 540-556, January 2026.
The proposed topology provides high voltage gain and enhanced efficiency at low duty cycles, thereby reducing conduction losses in the switches. Its interleaved structure ensures current sharing, while the switches experience both low voltage and low current stress, further decreasing conduction losses.

An integrated modelling and parameter design method for the RC snubber in novel cascode GaN‐based bridge convertors

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2022
The utilization of novel cascode GaN devices can significantly increase the power density and the efficiency of convertors. However, owing to high switching speed (high dv/dt or di/dt) and inevitable parasitic inductance in device packages and external ...

Multi‐Layer MTDC Protection: Design and Simulation Assessment

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This study proposes a novel multi‐layer protection architecture for multi‐terminal DC systems that separates fault current‐limiting and interruption functions. By combining a thyristor‐based fault current limiter with an active resonance circuit breaker, the scheme significantly reduces peak fault currents and di/dt stress, enabling a more compact ...

A non‐isolated symmetrical design of voltage lift switched‐inductor boost converter with higher gain and low voltage stress across switches

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
The article discusses the novel topology with high gain and low voltage stress DC‐DC converter based on switched‐capacitor and switched‐inductors for fuel cell and PV applications. The converter performance is analyzed and verified with the hardware prototype (22/400V, 50kHz).

Harmonic elimination of a fifteen‐level inverter with reduced number of switches using genetic algorithm

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This article presents a Fifteen‐level inverter topology that has a lesser number of switches (12) and can accommodate isolated DC sources. The total harmonic elimination (THD) of the proposed topology using genetic algorithm is within the IEEE 519 standards. Further, the fifteen‐level inverter is implemented in Hardware and firing pulses were generated
