Electoral surveys influence on the voting processes: a cellular automata model

open access: yes, 2002
Nowadays, in societies threatened by atomization, selfishness, short-term thinking, and alienation from political life, there is a renewed debate about classical questions concerning the quality of democratic decision-making.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Atomizzata o connessa? L’agire politico nella società individualizzata tra de-politicizzazione e ri-politicizzazione

open access: yesCambio, 2019
The article analyzes the relationship between social change and political change. The basic thesis is that, behind the widespread diagnosis of a political crisis a silencing "re-elaboration of the political" is happening.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Discrete Fourier Transform Improves the Prediction of the Electronic Properties of Molecules in Quantum Machine Learning

open access: yes, 2019
High-throughput approximations of quantum mechanics calculations and combinatorial experiments have been traditionally used to reduce the search space of possible molecules, drugs and materials.

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Critical reflection on digital labor of network anchor: Specialized division of labour networks and atomization of labor

open access: yesAcademic Journal of Humanities & Social Sciences
: Through the innovative medium of live broadcasting with goods, which acts as a technological bridge, the constraints of "face-to-face interaction under material and historical limitations" are shattered, giving rise to a post-working society.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...
