Suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3) is a cytokine-induced negative feedback-loop regulator of cytokine signaling. More and more evidence has proved it to be an inhibitor of signal transducers and activators of transcription 5 (STAT5).

Suppressor of Cytokine Signaling 3 (SOCS3) Degrades p65 and Regulate HIV-1 Replication
Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1 (HIV-1) is known to induce the expression of SOCS3 which is a negative feed-back regulator of inflammatory responses. Here, we demonstrate that reactivation of latent HIV-1 leads to degradation of SOCS3 at early time points.

Genetic partitioning of interleukin-6 signalling in mice dissociates Stat3 from Smad3-mediated lung fibrosis [PDF]
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a fatal disease that is unresponsive to current therapies and characterized by excessive collagen deposition and subsequent fibrosis.

A subcutaneous adipose tissue-liver signalling axis controls hepatic gluconeogenesis. [PDF]
The search for effective treatments for obesity and its comorbidities is of prime importance. We previously identified IKK-ε and TBK1 as promising therapeutic targets for the treatment of obesity and associated insulin resistance. Here we show that acute

Radiotherapy resistance acquisition in Glioblastoma. Role of SOCS1 and SOCS3.
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a poor prognosis type of tumour due to its resistance to chemo and radiotherapy. SOCS1 and SOCS3 have been associated with tumour progression and response to treatments in different kinds of cancers, including GBM.

Background Abnormal expression of SOCS3 has been implicated in myeloproliferative neoplasms, but the role of SOCS3 in the pathogenesis of leukemia remains largely unknown.

Trophoblast stem cells rescue placental defect in SOCS3-deficient mice [PDF]
Stem cells have important clinical and experimental potentials. Trophoblast stem (TS) cells possess the ability to differentiate into trophoblast subtypes in vitro and contribute to the trophoblast lineage in vivo.
