Effect of hyperthyroidism on circulating prolactin and hypothalamic expression of tyrosine hydroxylase, prolactin signaling cascade members and estrogen and progesterone receptors during late pregnancy and lactation in the rat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Hyperthyroidism (HyperT) compromises pregnancy and lactation, hindering suckling-induced PRL release. We studied the effect of HyperT on hypothalamic mRNA (RT-qPCR) and protein (Western blot) expression of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), PRL receptor (PRLR ...

SOCS3 is an endogenous inhibitor of pathologic angiogenesis [PDF]

open access: yesBlood, 2012
AbstractInflammatory cytokines and growth factors drive angiogenesis independently; however, their integrated role in pathologic and physiologic angiogenesis is not fully understood. Suppressor of cytokine signaling-3 (SOCS3) is an inducible negative feedback regulator of inflammation and growth factor signaling.

Targeting IL27RA Enhances Immunotherapy in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer by Modulating Tumor Cells and the Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IL27RA upregulation drives immune evasion in TNBC by suppressing MHC‐I expression and reprogramming T/NK‐cell states, establishing an immune‐excluded tumor phenotype. Targeting this epithelial‐intrinsic IL27RA–PI3K/AKT axis offers a promising strategy to overcome immunotherapy resistance.

Parameter inference in mechanistic models of cellular regulation and signalling pathways using gradient matching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A challenging problem in systems biology is parameter inference in mechanistic models of signalling pathways. In the present article, we investigate an approach based on gradient matching and nonparametric Bayesian modelling with Gaussian processes.

Targeting DAP5 Disrupts Alternate Mode of Translational Initiation in Tregs and Potentiates Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Regulatory T cells (Tregs) suppress antitumor immunity. This study identifies that the translation scaffold DAP5/eIF4G2 is upregulated in tumor‐infiltrating Tregs (ti‐Tregs). DAP5 mediates an alternate translation mode to sustain CD25 and MCL‐1 expression, which is critical for ti‐Treg stability and survival in the tumor microenvironment.

Talaromyces marneffei promotes M2-like polarization of human macrophages by downregulating SOCS3 expression and activating the TLR9 pathway

open access: yesVirulence, 2021
Little is known about how Talaromyces marneffei, a thermally dimorphic fungus that causes substantial morbidity and mortality in Southeast Asia, evades the human immune system.

Reporters of TCR signaling identify arthritogenic T cells in murine and human autoimmune arthritis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
How pathogenic cluster of differentiation 4 (CD4) T cells in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) develop remains poorly understood. We used Nur77-a marker of T cell antigen receptor (TCR) signaling-to identify antigen-activated CD4 T cells in the SKG mouse model ...

SOCS3 Deletion Promotes Optic Nerve Regeneration In Vivo [PDF]

open access: yesNeuron, 2009
Axon regeneration failure accounts for permanent functional deficits following CNS injury in adult mammals. However, the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. In analyzing axon regeneration in different mutant mouse lines, we discovered that deletion of suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3) in adult retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) promotes robust ...
