Advanced Dental Composite Technology via Bisilanized Dual‐Action Nanofillers for Biofilm Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal research strategy has led to the development of an innovative resin‐based composite (RBC) with dual antibacterial action. The S_CM‐RBC formula showed strong antibiofilm activity, excellent mechanical strength, and biosafety. It effectively controlled oral bacteria in prevention of caries recurrence, and maintained pulp health in a rat ...

Hyperlipidemia Aggravates Alveolar Bone Loss via Periodontal Ligament Stem Cell Ferroptosis Through GSK3β Dependent Ubiquitin‐Mediated NRF2 Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid metabolic stress triggers ferroptosis in PDLSCs through the GSK3β/NRF2 pathway, thereby aggravating periodontal bone loss. Upregulated GSK3β promotes NRF2 ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation via β‐TrCP, suppressing NRF2 nuclear translocation and antioxidant target expression.

Organic matter, sodicity, and soil structure

open access: yes, 1998
Sodicity is generally associated with poor soil structure while, on the other hand, organic matter is generally associated with good soil structure.

Chitosan‐Carbon Dot Composite Materials Form a Leaf Surface Barrier to Mitigate the Enrichment and Invasion of Nanoplastics: From Leaf Interface to Systemic Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Foliar spraying of CS‐CDs can form a film on the leaves of Brassica rapa, effectively reducing the enrichment and absorption of PS in the leaves, while increasing the biomass and nutrient content of the plants. In addition, CS‐CDs can also enrich the interfoliar microbial community and activate the plant's own defense metabolic pathways.

A comparative analysis to forecast salinity and sodicity distributions using empirical Bayesian and disjunctive kriging in irrigated soils of the Jordan valley

open access: yes
In arid regions such as the Jordan valley, salinity and sodicity are major constraints to soil quality and crop production. Accurate spatial determination of sodicity and salinity at field scale is a challenge, which can limit the effectiveness of ...

Field trial and modelling of different strategies for remediation of soil salinity and sodicity in the Lower Murray irrigation areas

open access: yes, 2017
Rising saline groundwatertables and drought in the Lower Murray Reclaimed Irrigation Area (LMRIA) has created soil salinity and sodicity conditions, which has resulted in a decline in agricultural production. A 2 month field experiment was conducted at

Screening of finger millet genotypes for sodicity tolerance using the Na+/K+ ratio as a major physiological trait

open access: yes, 2022
Sodicity affects a larger area than salinity, but research on the sodicity tolerance mechanism is limited. The study was carried out to screen 120 finger millet genotypes under sodic soil conditions and identify sodicity-tolerant genotypes.

CK2α Deficiency Drives Myocardial Fibrosis via Desmin‐Induced Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CK2α preserves mitochondrial homeostasis by phosphorylating Desmin to recruit Cryab, ensuring proper filament assembly. CK2α deficiency disrupts this interaction, causing mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic shifts, bioenergetic failure, and oxidative stress—ultimately establishing a pro‐fibrotic environment that drives cardiac fibrosis.
