Whole‐Genome Sequencing Pilot of the Central Asian Genomic Diversity Project Reveals Distinct Histories, Adaptation, and Introgression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
As a pilot phase of the Central Asian Genomic Diversity Project, whole‐genome sequencing of 166 individuals from 20 Central Asian and Afghan Hazara populations reveals fine‐scale substructure shaped by repeated trans‐Eurasian migration and admixture. Integrated analyses uncover post‐admixture adaptation, archaic introgression, and medically relevant ...

The Effect of Water Sodium on the Chick Requirement for Dietary Sodium

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1979
Two strains of broiler chicks fed a basal wheat-soybean diet designed to be complete in all known nutrients failed to achieve optimal growth at 3 weeks of age. Increments of dietary sodium resulted in increased growth responses and improved feed efficiencies (P less than .05) which were not related to genotype.

Deep Learning Network‐Tailored Microenvironment Matching of 4D Bioprinting Bioactive Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DLN dataset was built to analyze MABS composition versus in vitro/in vivo osteogenesis and angiogenesis. An MLP neural network, taking BG morphological parameters as input, extracts bioactive features from these datasets. A rabbit tibial defect model then validates 4D‐printed MABS for adaptability and bone regeneration in critical defects.

Current Collector Engineering for New Efficient Bioresorbable Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioresorbable Na‐ion battery is proposed with Mo or Mg thin‐film current collectors for temporary implants. Mo‐based batteries exhibit superior electrochemical performance and stable cycling compared with Mg counterparts. XPS was used to investigate the Mo/Mg surface oxidation.

Policy Options for Reducing Dietary Sodium Intake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Faced with soaring health-care costs, Canadian governments should consider creative ways to enable the population to stay healthy — and making it possible for Canadians to reduce their sodium intake is an extremely cost-effective way to do so.

Importance of dietary sodium in the hypercalciuria syndrome

open access: yesKidney International, 1982
Daily urinary calcium excretion in renal stone-forming subjects is shown to vary directly with moderate changes in dietary sodium intake. The changes produced are sufficient to alter the basic diagnostic classification from 'hypercalciuric' to 'normocalciuric' because dietary sodium is reduced from 200 to 80 mM/day.

Biomimetic Nanoplatform for Dual Target Nano‐Metabolic Therapy in Diabetes‐Associated Biofilm Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic GOx/Arg‐loaded nanoplatform produces nitric oxide through an in situ catalytic cascade reaction, enabling dual‐target metabolic regulation in diabetes‐associated biofilm infections. Bacterial metabolism is disrupted, and macrophage immunometabolism is reprogrammed, resulting in biofilm eradication, immune restoration, and enhanced ...
