The Effect of Reducing Agent for Synthesizing Palladium Nanoparticle on Carbon Nanotube Support and Its Superior Catalytic Activity towards Methanol Oxidation Reaction

open access: yesECS Advances, 2023
In this report, we have synthesized carbon nanotube supported palladium nanoparticles (CNT-Pd) by using different reducing agents such as sodium borohydride (SBH), hydrazine monohydrate (HY) and ascorbic acid (AA) for the methanol oxidation reaction (MOR)

Alcohol deoxygenation in the presence of SiO2@FeSO4 nanocomposite

open access: yesResults in Chemistry
SiO2@FeSO4 nanocomposite was studied as a nanocatalyst for deoxygenation of alcohols. Alcohols were converted to alkanes by removing oxygen in the presence of SiO2@FeSO4 nanocatalyst.

Reactions of sodium borohydride. IV. Reduction of aromatic sulfonyl chlorides with sodium borohydride.

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1987
Aromatic sulfonyl chlorides were reduced with sodium borohydride in tetrahydrofuran at 0 C to the corresponding sulfinic acids in good yields. Further reduction proceeded when the reaction was carried out under reflux in tetrahydrofuran to give disulfide and thiophenol derivatives via sulfinic acid.

NaBH4-Poly(Ethylene Oxide) Composite Electrolyte for All-Solid-State Na-Ion Batteries

open access: yesBatteries
A disordered sodium borohydride (NaBH4) environment to facilitate Na+ mobility was achieved by partially hydrolyzing NaBH4 and this significantly improved Na+ ionic conductivity to 10−3 S cm−1 at 75 °C. The reaction rate of NaBH4 self-hydrolysis, however,

Chemistry of Diborane and Sodium Borohydride. VII. Reduction of α-Amino Acid Amides with Sodium Borohydride

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1970
Tertiary amides of five amino acids and their derivatives were reduced with sodium borohydride in refluxing pyridine to the corresponding diamines in moderate yields. Effects of substituents at the α-position on α-substituted N, N-dimethylhydrocinnamamide were examined.
