SODIUM CHLORIDE METABOLISM IN CUTANEOUS BURNS AND ITS POSSIBLE SIGNIFICANCE FOR A RATIONAL THERAPY

, 1926
The disturbance of fluid balance following extensive cutaneous burns is a well known phenomenon. Even though the fluid intake is relatively great during the first twenty-four hours, there is a marked urinary suppression.

Water redispersible dried nanofibrillated cellulose by adding sodium chloride.

Biomacromolecules, 2012
The present study reports for the first time a method to obtain water redispersible dried NFC using freeze-drying. No chemical surface modification was required to get this kind of product. Salt addition (sodium chloride: NaCl) strategy has been selected

Retention of sodium and chloride by mitochondria

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1963
Retention of sodium and chloride by washed mitochondria is described. The observations supplement data reported previously with respect to retention of potassium 1. 1. Only small amounts of sodium were retained after treatment with electrolyte-free sucrose: 0.025–0.05 μmoles/mg nitrogen or 1.0–2.0 μmoles/ml centrifuged pellet.

SODIUM CHLORIDE POISONING IN CATTLE

Australian Veterinary Journal, 1978
SUMMARYConsumption of a sodium chloride based supplement followed by food and water restriction in yards for over 30 hours, resulted in nervous disorders in 5 of 60 three‐year‐old steers within hours of being released into a paddock. Clinical signs were associated with polioencephalomalacis which was confirmed in 2 of 3 affected steers by microscopic ...

SODIUM CHLORIDE AND HYPERTENSION

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1956
To the Editor:— The Journal, March 17, page 997, carried my letter mentioning evidence that saltless diet can reduce puerperal eclampsia to the vanishing point. Newspapers now are informing the public of observations presented at the recent meeting of the American Society for Experimental Pathology at Atlantic City, N.

Controlling the Maillard reaction by reactant encapsulation: sodium chloride in cookies.

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2012
Formation of Maillard reaction products (MRPs) including 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) and acrylamide has been an intensive area of research in recent decades.

Triboluminescence in sodium chloride

Journal of Luminescence, 2010
The emission of light due to rubbing or impact of two surfaces (Triboluminescence) has been traditionally studied under visible and ultraviolet spectrum. The current study provides an experimental insight into infrared emission occurring during low velocity impact on common salt crystals.

Phase, morphology, and hygroscopicity of mixed oleic acid/sodium chloride/water aerosol particles before and after ozonolysis.

Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2012
Aerosol optical tweezers are used to probe the phase, morphology, and hygroscopicity of single aerosol particles consisting of an inorganic component, sodium chloride, and a water insoluble organic component, oleic acid. Coagulation of oleic acid aerosol
