A Visible Light‐Responsive Hydrogel to Study the Effect of Dynamic Tissue Stiffness on Cellular Mechanosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A visible light‐responsive polyacrylamide‐azobenzene hydrogel enables safe, reversible stiffness control for studying cell mechanobiology without harmful UV exposure. This approach reveals stem cells respond rapidly to mechanical changes, showing altered shape and protein distribution within one hour.

Machine Learning‐Enabled Polymer Discovery for Enhanced Pulmonary siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study provides an efficient approach to train a machine learning model by merging heterogeneous literature data to predict suitable polymers for siRNA delivery. Without the need for extensive laboratory synthesis, the machine learning enabled a virtual screening and successfully predicted a polymer that is validated for effective gene silencing in

Double Cross‐Linked Hydrogel for Intra‐articular Injection as Modality for Macrophages Metabolic Reprogramming and Therapy of Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hydrogel for intra‐articular injection for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is formulated and comprehensively studied. After administration, the hydrogel induces a metabolic reprogramming of immunometabolism of macrophages to trigger fatty acid oxidation subsequently inducing polarization of anti‐inflammatory M2 macrophages. This results in

Evolving Platinum‐Copper Nanostructures for Enhanced Photothermal Therapy and Controlled Copper Release in Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Platinum‐Copper bimetallic nanoparticles may evolve depending on their synthesis under tumor microenvironment conditions and play a dual role as chemotherapeutic agents after releasing Cu ions and as near infrared photothermal agents with the Pt‐rich remaining frames.

Dietary requirements of sodium and chloride for slow-growing broiler breeds during finisher phase of production

open access: yesJournal of Applied Poultry Research, 2022
SUMMARY: The experiment was conducted to estimate dietary requirements of sodium and chloride for Lingnan yellow chickens from 43 to 63 days of age. A total of 750 broiler males were randomly divided into 5 treatments, and each had 6 replicates with 25 ...

SPAK Isoforms and OSR1 Regulate Sodium-Chloride Co-transporters in a Nephron-specific Manner*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2012
Background: Full-length SPAK is thought to be necessary and sufficient to activate NCC in the distal convoluted tubule (DCT). Results: SPAK knock-out disrupts a signaling network, involving OSR1, in the DCT but not the TAL, preventing NCC activation ...

Sodium Chloride for Broiler Breeders

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1983
Two experiments, each of 224 days duration, were conducted with Cobb broiler breeders, 32 weeks of age, to determine their response to supplemental dietary sodium chloride levels ranging from .12 to .48% in a corn-soybean meal diet. Average hen-day egg production, daily feed intake, feed required per dozen eggs, and egg specific gravity were not ...
