Tryptophan confers resistance to SDS-associated cell membrane stress in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Sodium dodecyl sulfate is a detergent that disrupts cell membranes, activates cell wall integrity signaling and restricts cell growth in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. However, the underlying mechanism of how sodium dodecyl sulfate inhibits cell growth is not

Production and characterization of a highly stable laccase from extreme thermophile Geobacillus stearothermophilus MB600 isolated from hot spring of Gilgit Balitistan (Pakistan)

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2023
Extracellular thermophilic multicopper oxidase i.e. laccase was purified, identified and characterized from Geobacillus stearothermophilus MB600. Fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) of lacasse showed a prominent peak at 610 nm.

Study on the effect of different air-entraining agents on the properties of concrete [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Different types of air entraining agents (sodium dodecyl sulfate (K12), sodium alpha alkenesulfonate (AOS), and fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether (AEO) air entraining agents) were selected to study the properties of concrete.

Green SDS-assisted synthesis of quinoxaline derivatives in the water [PDF]

open access: yesشیمی کاربردی روز, 2016
A simple, practical and convenient procedure for the synthesis of quinoxaline derivatives has been developed by reaction of 1,2-phenylenediamines with 1,2-diketones in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in the aqueous medium at room temperature

Improvements in Gold Nanorod Biocompatibility with Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Stabilization

open access: yesJournal of Nanotheranostics, 2021
Due to their well-defined plasmonic properties, gold nanorods (GNRs) can be fabricated with optimal light absorption in the near-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum, which make them suitable for cancer-related theranostic applications ...

Decellularization of the mouse ovary: comparison of different scaffold generation protocols for future ovarian bioengineering

open access: yesJournal of Ovarian Research, 2019
Background In order to preserve fertility in young women with disseminated cancer, e.g. leukemia, an approach that has been suggested is to retransplant isolated small follicles within an ovarian matrix free from malignant cells and with no risk for ...

Comparison of Solubilization Capacity of Resveratrol in Sodium 3α,12α-Dihydroxy-7-oxo-5β-cholanoate and Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
In this study we investigated resveratrol (trans-3,5,4′-trihydroxystilbene) solubilization with sodium 3α,12α-dihydroxy-7-oxo-5β-cholanoate (S7-OD) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS).

Molecular dynamics simulation study of sodium dodecyl sulfate micelle: Water penetration and sodium dodecyl sulfate dissociation [PDF]

open access: yesColloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 2015
Abstract We investigate a micelle consisting of 60 sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) molecules in water phase using molecular dynamics simulation method. The dimension of the micelle is evaluated as ∼16 A and ∼21 A for the radius of gyration and geometric radius, respectively, which are well agreed with the previous studies.
