Fluoride ingestion and its correlation with gastrointestinal discomfort [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
This study was carried out to assess the effect on the human gastroduodenal mucosa of drinking naturally fluoridated water and treating patients with 30 mg sodium fluoride for otosclerosis. Ten cases each of skeletal fluorosis and otosclerosis and twenty

N‐Doping Activated Presodiation Enhances Sodium‐Ion Provision in Hard Carbon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Introducing pyrrolic‐N sites enables efficient presodiation and stronger PF6− capture, thus pre ‐ forming a robust inorganic‐rich SEI layer in hard carbon anodes. ABSTRACT Hard carbon (HC) is considered the most promising anode material for commercial sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs), yet it still faces critical challenges such as low initial Coulombic ...

Sodium fluoride or sodium monofluorophosphate? A critical view of a meta-analysis on their relative effectiveness in dentifrices. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A detailed examination of nine publications used in a meta-analysis to compare the relative effectiveness of sodium fluoride and sodium monofluorophosphate in dentifrices showed important flaws in the process.

Dual‐Stage Microneedle Patch With Lipid Droplet‐Mediated ‘Capture‐Kill’ and Sustained Release for Enhanced Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a lipid‐droplet‐engineered, gallium‐loaded sonodynamic therapeutic platform (LDTG) incorporated into a bilayer microneedle (MN) patch co‐delivering all‐trans retinoic acid (ATRA), termed LDTG A‐MNs, for synergistic antibacterial therapy and accelerated wound repair.

The RNA‐Binding Protein PARN Remodeled 3′ UTR Structure Defines Poly(A)‐Loading Sites to Mediate Immunoglobulin Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Class Switch Recombination (CSR) is essential for generating high‐affinity antibody isotypes from IgM during adaptive humoral responses. Despite well‐established roles for various transcription factors, whether CSR is subject to dedicated post‐transcriptional control represents a significant gap in knowledge.

Master Regulator SMC1A, Stabilized by N6‐Methyladenosine Reader IGF2BP1, Promotes HCC Progression Through Facilitating Enhancer–Promoter Interaction of Nestin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IGF2BP1‐mediated m6A stabilization sustains SMC1A expression, enabling cohesin‐associated chromatin regulation of Nestin in hepatocellular carcinoma. This work reveals an epitranscriptomic‐chromatin‐cytoskeletal regulatory axis linked to malignant phenotypes and identifies SMC1A as a biologically relevant vulnerability in HCC.

The molecular mechanism of fluoride export by the eukaryotic fluoride channel FEX

open access: yesNature Communications
Much of life on Earth, including plants, fungi, and bacteria, evolved to resist toxic environmental fluoride. In eukaryotes, the major resistance mechanism is fluoride export by membrane proteins known as FEX. Using electrophysiology and transport assays,
