Glyoxylic‐Acetal‐Based Gel‐Polymer Electrolytes for Lithium‐Ion Batteries
A safe electrolyte based on tetraethoxyglyoxal (LE) is combined with a methacrylate polymer matrix. The resulting gel‐polymer electrolyte (GPE) exhibits an increased flash point, suitable ionic conductivity, and a stable performance in lithium‐ion battery cells.

“Dead Lithium” Formation and Mitigation Strategies in Anode‐Free Li‐Metal Batteries
Anode‐free lithium metal batteries, though promising due to their high energy density, face challenges from dead lithium formation. “Dead lithium”, disconnected from the anode, causes capacity loss, increased resistance, and safety risks. This review explores the origins of dead lithium, its impact on battery performance, and potential strategies for ...

Harnessing plant‐based platform for low‐cost cellulosic sugar recovery from bioenergy crops
Abstract The price of pure cellulase enzyme for the recovery of fermentable cellulosic sugars is one of the major challenges that limit the commercialization of second‐generation biofuels and bio‐based products. This work shows a means to greatly reduce the cost of cellulases. The abundant capacity of plants to synthesize and hyperaccumulate transgenic

Possible therapeutic repositioning of valproic acid: From epileptic seizures to acute kidney injury
Valproic acid, an anticonvulsant, may be repositioned to prevent acute kidney injury due to ischemia followed by reperfusion. It preserves renal functions, electrolyte homeostasis and active sodium transport in kidney tubules, and blocks the onset of hypertension.

Remineralisation of enamel with silver diamine fluoride and sodium fluoride
Dental Materials, 2018To evaluate the remineralising effect of the adjunctive application of 38% silver diamine fluoride (SDF) solution and 5% sodium fluoride (NaF) varnish on artificial enamel caries lesions.Forty-eight demineralised enamel specimens were allocated into four groups. Group 1 received 38% SDF and 5% NaF; Group 2 received 38% SDF; Group 3 received 5% NaF; and

As a medical treatment for otospongiosis-otosclerosis, sodium fluoride influences the underlying bony changes in the labyrinth so as to arrest or prevent the onset of hearing loss. Sodium fluoride is an enzyme inhibitor and reduces osteoclastic bone resorption and, if the dosage is more than 60 mg a day, may rebuild pseudohaversian bone.

The reaction between Na and HF is a typical harpooning reaction which is of great interest due to its significance in understanding the elementary chemical reaction kinetics. This work aims to investigate the detailed reaction mechanisms of sodium with hydrogen fluoride and the adsorption of HF on the resultant NaF as well as the (NaF)4 tetramer.

Fluoride Excretion With Sodium Fluoride-Vitamin Tablets
Journal of Dental Research, 1968Studies were conducted with children who ingested a supplemental fluoride-vitamin preparation, and the pattern of fluoride excretion during a three-year period was investigated. The rate of excretion was greater than the control level throughout a 24-hour period, although the greatest rate of excretion occurred within the first two hours.
