The First Archaeomagnetic Age at Tiwanaku and Implications for Dating Andean Metallurgical Furnaces

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 317-329, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents the first archaeomagnetic dating at Tiwanaku (Andean Altiplano). We compared the geomagnetic field values recorded by a metallurgical furnace against an updated SHAWQ2k‐SH global model and a regional intensity curve, both of which include, for the first time, high‐quality intensity data from the Southern Hemisphere. Nanometric Faujasite (FAU) Zeolite Ion‐Exchanged With Metal Ions for Hemostatic and Antimicrobial Applications: A Thromboelastographic and Microbiological Study

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 21, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Faujasite nanozeolite (NanoFAU) and its ion‐exchanged forms (Ag+, Ba2+, Ca2+, Mg2+) were synthesized and characterized to assess their biomedical potential. NanoFAU‐Ca showed superior hemostatic activity, while NanoFAU‐Ag exhibited strong antimicrobial effects against S. aureus and C. albicans.

ZnO‐Functionalized Silicon Carbide Ceramic Membranes for Removing Impurities From Biodiesel

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ceramic Engineering &Science, Volume 8, Issue 3, May 2026.
Silicon carbide (SiC) ceramic membranes functionalized with zinc oxide (ZnO) were assessed for biodiesel purification through crossflow filtration. The ZnO–SiC membranes effectively retained metallic impurities, especially calcium, sodium, and phosphorus, achieving levels that meet biodiesel quality standards.

Effective Removal of Fe and Ca From Coal Fly Ash for High‐Purity and High‐Surface‐Area Zeolite X Synthesis: A Comparative Study of Acid Refluxing and Acid Roasting Methods

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
Coal fly ash (CFA) is an abundant industrial waste rich in silica and alumina and represents a viable feedstock for zeolite synthesis; however, high levels of calcium and iron limit zeolite purity and crystallisation. This study evaluates acid refluxing and acid roasting as pre‐treatment strategies for the simultaneous removal of Ca and Fe from high ...
