Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Integration of Soft Errors in Functional Safety: a conceptual study
Embedded systems are used for both safety and non-safety critical applications. Safety critical systems must have a very low failure rate, as a failure can cause injury or even death. This paper presents soft errors as a cause for failure.

Packed hydrogel microfiber (PHM) materials consist of flexible and high aspect ratio hydrogel components that, as a bulk material, are simultaneously mechanically robust and dynamic. Cells cultured in or on PHM scaffolds can be influenced by topographical cues or interact with a dynamic environment that permits cell spreading and multicellular ...

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

On the Effects of Soft Errors in Embedded Control Systems
This thesis investigates techniques for making closed loop control systems fault-tolerant and robust with respect to soft errors occurring in the computer hardware. Soft errors are caused by transient faults that alter the binary values stored in latches,

Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.

Effect of Soft Errors in Iterative Learning Control and Compensation using Cross-layer Approach [PDF]
In this paper, we study the effects of radiation-induced soft errors in iterative learning control(ILC) and present the compensation techniques to make the ILC systems robust against soft errors.

Compiler Optimizations Impact the Reliability of the Control-Flow of Radiation-Hardened Software
http://dx.doi.org/10.5028/jatm.v5i3.224 This paper discusses how compiler optimizations influence software reliability when the optimized application is compiled with a technique to enable the software itself to detect and correct radiation-induced ...
