Mechanically Assisted Magnetic Actuation in Ceramic‐Based Microscrolls for Fast and Durable Soft Robotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ceramic‐based V2O5/Fe3O4 hybrid films are shaped into butterfly‐proboscis‐inspired microscroll actuators. Magnetic triggering initiates unrolling, while geometry‐programmed elastic strain energy drives rapid recoil, enabling fast, reversible, durable, and load‐bearing actuation under near‐field magnetic stimulation.

Solid Particle‐Liquid Metal Mixtures for Robust High‐Current Interconnects in Stretchable Electronics and Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Metallic microparticles dispersed in liquid metal interconnects mitigate electromigration‐induced failure by reconfiguring internal current density distributions. These fillers facilitate the growth of a robust, protective gallium oxide shell at elevated temperatures, shifting the failure threshold toward a thermal limit.

A Chemical Pump that Generates High‐Pressure Gas by Transmitting Liquid Fuel against Pressure Gradient

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, 2022
A pneumatic soft robot can be made autonomous by carrying a liquid chemical fuel. In the existing design, to transmit the fuel, the pressure of the fuel tank must exceed that of the actuator.

Soft pneumatic actuators for pushing fingers into extension

open access: yesJournal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation
Compliant pneumatic actuators possess many characteristics that are desirable for wearable robotic systems. These actuators can be lightweight, integrated with clothing, and accommodate uncontrolled degrees of freedom. These attributes are especially desirable for hand exoskeletons, where the soft actuator can conform to the highly variable digit shape.
