Design of fabric-based soft robotic glove for hand function assistance

2019 6th International Conference on Information Technology, Computer and Electrical Engineering (ICITACEE), 2019
This research presents design and development of prototype fabric-based wearable soft exoskeleton. The soft glove employs motor-tendon for assisting the flexion and extension motion of the user’s hand. Two linear actuators are used as the motor-tendon actuator system.

Soft Robotic Gloves with Thin McKibben Muscles for Hand Assist and Rehabilitation

2020 IEEE/SICE International Symposium on System Integration (SII), 2020
In this paper, we proposed, designed, prototyped, and demonstrated a new soft robotic rehabilitation glove with thin McKibben muscles. Rehabilitation gloves have recently attracted considerable attention owing to an increase in the number of patients and a decrease in the number of medical personnel with declining birth rates and rapidly aging society.

EMG controlled soft robotic glove for assistance during activities of daily living

2015 IEEE International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics (ICORR), 2015
This paper presents further developments, characterization and initial evaluation of a recently developed assistive soft robotic glove for individuals with hand pathologies. The glove technology utilizes a combination of elastomeric and inextensible materials to create soft actuators that conform to the user's hand and can generate sufficient hand ...

Preliminary Evaluation of a Wearable Soft-Robotic Glove Supporting Grip Strength in ADL

2016
In the ongoing ironHand (iH) project, a wearable soft-robotic glove, the iH system, is being developed to support the hand during daily functioning. This study gives a first insight in the potential effect of the glove in daily life. Preliminary results show that participants can increase their pinch grip strength with assistance of the glove, but ...

A Soft Robotic Exomusculature Glove with Integrated sEMG sensing for Hand Rehabilitation

2014
Stroke affects around 750,000 people annually with 80% of survivors left with unilateral weakness in their extremities. Repetitive hand movement therapy is often used as a rehabilitation technique to help patients regain dexterity and strength. In order to facilitate this rehabilitation process, a soft exo-muscular robotic upper limb device was ...
