Fungi associated with soft rot of yams (Dioscorea spp.) in storage in Nigeria
Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1970The organisms which cause soft rot of yams (Dioscorea spp.) in storage are identified as Botryodiplodia theobromae Pat., Fusarium moniliforme var. subgluti-nans Wr. & Rg., Penicillium sclerotigenum Yamamoto, and Aspergillus niger van Tiegh. The fungi enter through wounds and natural openings on the surface of the tubers.
